The BCRS Team - Who are we?

James M. Wilkinson, II, Ph.D., President

Dr. Wilkinson is the founder and President of Bioclinical Research Solutions (BCRS), and is highly respected for his work in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Dr. Wilkinson founded BCRS in July of 2005 after spending the majority of his career working with pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organizations (CROs).

For more than 30 years, Dr. Wilkinson has provided a wide range of hands-on technical and managerial expertise in the planning, implementation, and reporting of clinical and bioanalytical studies. He has established Quality Assurance programs, directed laboratories, and overseen all aspects of Phase I clinical and bioanalytical research.

Throughout his career Dr. Wilkinson managed hundreds of pharmaceutical research projects and has extensive experience in FDA audits. He has also participated by invitation as an industry representative in the FDA Reviewer Certification Training Course. His direct experience working with both large and small organizations has provided him a unique insight into the pressures companies face in obtaining approval for their products.

Dr. Wilkinson began his career as a Medicinal Chemist for A. H. Robins Pharmaceutical Company. From there he moved to a small CRO specializing in bioanalytical chemistry which evolved into a division of Pharmaco International, now PPD. Directly prior to founding BCRS, Dr. Wilkinson served as Director, President and CEO of PharmaKinetics Laboratories, Inc., a full service CRO.

Dr. Wilkinson earned a B. S. in Chemistry from Virginia Military Institute and a Ph.D. from Duke University in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the American Association of Xenobiotics. He currently resides in Bel Air, Maryland.

Cynthia A. Schurick, B.Sc., Vice President

Cynthia Schurick is Vice President of Bioclinical Research Solutions (BCRS), and is a highly regarded professional with a 25 year background in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry. She joined BCRS in 2005 after spending the majority of her career working for PharmaKinetics Laboratories, Inc., a full service CRO.

Her work in the CRO industry, including both technical and executive level positions, has provided her extensive knowledge and expertise in Phase I, II, and III clinical trials, technical evaluation, regulatory compliance, management, and sales and marketing. Ms. Schurick’s experience in all areas of the CRO industry makes her the ideal partner when navigating the difficult landscape of Phase I testing.

Throughout her career, Ms. Schurick has been involved with all aspects of the design, execution and reporting of Phase I clinical and bioanalytical studies. She has been responsible for all areas of operations in the CRO environment.

Ms. Schurick began her career as a Clinical Research Associate with PharmaKinetics, responsible for patient recruitment and the study conduct of Phase III multi-center trials. During her career with PharmaKinetics, Ms. Schurick held senior and executive level positions within the Company, from Director of Operations to Vice President of Biopharmaceutics, eventually serving PharmaKinetics as Vice President of Business Development.

Ms. Schurick earned a B.Sc. in Speech Pathology and Audiology (Magna Cum Laude) from West Virginia University. She currently resides in Crownsville, Maryland.
